Four Winds co-owner Adam Mills with staff Seamus Munns and Justin Longoz presented a cheque for more than $14,000 to Reach development manager Kristin Bibbs in front of Harris Barn Tuesday afternoon.
The Cheers for Children fundraiser held Feb. 3, was extremely successful.
Mills and team brought together fellow brewing companies as well as provided Four Winds beers, tacos and staff time at the event to donate this sizable sum to Reach Society’s Building for Children Together project that has made the new Reach Centre for Children in Ladner possible.
“The great thing about the nature of this event is that, in addition to the incredible funds raised, we raised awareness of Reach amongst our community’s current and future young parents and families,” said Bibbs.
“We cannot thank the Mills and Four Winds team enough for their generosity in hosting such a unique, fun event.”
Four Winds also sourced local folk and country music talent David Simard, Twin Bandit, and Jack Mercer & The Whiskey Bandits and the big crowd on the dance floor all night was evidence of the audience’s enjoyment of the music. Representatives from Four Winds and Reach raised awareness of the help available to children with special needs thoughout the evening to a demographic that included many young parents.
“What an amazing night. A great example of the community coming together to support such a worthy cause. I was blown away with the talent of the local acts as well as the generosity of those in attendance,” said Mills. “Working with Reach was a pleasure and we look forward to doing it again next year.”
