Have you ever wondered what all this coding talk is about? Come to Tsawwassen Library’s Coding for Adults on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for a playful, informative, hands-on experience that will leave you feeling empowered.

 

Ambassadors-Tsawwassen Mills Toastmasters will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tsawwassen Mills Training Room (enter at Entrance 4, turn left past Old Navy, and it's between Yogibo Bean Bags & Yogen Fruz). The Canadian Federation of University Women South Delta meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at Benediction Lutheran Church in Tsawwassen at 7:15 p.m. The next meeting is on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Membership is open to women to come together with other like-minded women to improve the status of women, and to promote human rights, public education, social justice and peace. Mental Health Resiliency Support Group offered by Canadian Mental Health Association welcomes anyone who lives with a mental illness/mental health problem such as anxiety or depression. The group provides a safe environment to share your struggles and triumphs. Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue Station 8 Delta is looking for men and women to join the all-volunteer group dedicated to saving lives on the waters around Delta. The Point Roberts volunteer fire department is hosting s 24-hour row-athon fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 11 at the fire hall (2030 Benson Rd.) in Point Roberts. The Delta Music Makers is staging a multi-media "Concert of Remembrance" at Kinvillage on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. The afternoon show will include lighthearted, nostalgic music in the first half, while the second half is more reflective, in the spirit of Remembrance, with piper solo and audience singalong to old familiar songs. Refreshments served. Admission by donation.

 

The Wander Inn Café' presents A Christmas Show on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Lighthouse Church in Ladner. Local singers are Liette Desnoyers, Christine Magee and Charmaine Levans will perform traditional and seasonal songs. Loades of Music daytime concert band has commenced a new season. Band rehearses Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at Saviour Lutheran Church, 4737-57th St., Ladner. Registration fee is $50 per year. This year the band would like to add players to its brass section that play either trumpet or trombone.
