Mayor Lois Jackson receives her daffodil pin, showing support for the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight against cancer, from Delta Relay for Life participants Gwen Clyne (cancer survivor), Michele Unger (organizing committee volunteer), Daniel Unger (team captain of Kids for a Cure) and Ishan Pal (team participant). Each April marks the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Campaign. The daffodil has long been recognized as the symbol of hope in the fight against cancer. To some the daffodil is just a flower. For the Canadian Cancer Society, it is a symbol of strength and courage. It says we will not give up. It says we will fight against cancer and we will win. Join the fight against cancer and buy a daffodil pin this April. The Canadian Cancer Society’s signature event Relay for Life will take place in Delta on June 7 at North Delta Secondary School. To register call 604-533-1145 or go to www.relayforlife.ca/delta.
