Protecting your personal information is now more important than ever. With the growth of identity theft, properly destroying any sensitive or confidential information is a must.
Shred-Wise and Ladner Save-on-Foods are hosting a “Shred-a-thon” in the supermarket’s parking lot on Sunday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will benefit Delta Gymnastics.
“People’s confidential information needs to be protected and these shred events are not only great for safely disposing of important documents but provide a great way to rid your home or commercial office, storage room or personal files of all the clutter,” says Melissa Woodward, a Delta Gymnastics parent organizer.
Businesses and individuals are welcome to bring their bags and boxes of documents to the shredding truck.
Shredding of transaction records, credit applications, insurance forms, cheques, financial statements, mortgage or other home information, payroll and tax returns is highly recommended.
“We really appreciate Shred-Wise sponsoring this event which allows us to give the community this tremendous opportunity to help keep their identity safe,” says Woodward. “Donations received for this service from local businesses and residents will directly benefit hard working Delta Gymnastics athletes, so everyone is a winner with the Shred-a-thon.”
