Ladner Baptist’s Connect Ministry supports individuals and families with children who have diverse medical, developmental, emotional and physical abilities. The program provides assistance to parents and children who attend church services, delivers educational and training sessions to both the congregation, Sunday school teachers, the public, and to youth and young adults who work as class support workers.

This is the same ministry that offers the Halloween Connect Carnival in October where activities are tailored to be accessible to a range of needs.

Both of these events have been well received and serve as a welcomed break from the day-to-day challenges families of children with different needs face: multiple medical appointments, hospital stays, medical procedures, behavioral challenges as well as balancing family dynamics.

Programs like the Family Fun Craft Day provide local families with much needed support and complements the vast array of community programs and organizations in Delta. Attendance has increased year after year, indicating the need to look beyond the individual(s) with diverse needs and include a more holistic approach to strengthening social relationships by involving siblings, grandparents, friends and other caregivers.

Not only is this event geared towards those of different abilities, families find it is a time to connect with other families and make new friends.
