Over the past decade, Blaney’s distinct painting style has won praise from collectors who are drawn to her vibrant colours, rhythmical designs and bold forms.

Her current body of work in acrylics features whimsical, stylized compositions that evoke such iconic influences as Lawren Harris and Emily Carr, while exploring the enchanted landscapes of her West Coast childhood.

“I draw largely on memory, imagination and intuition to freely express my subjects,” she said. “Places I’ve visited, remembered or imagined, all find their way onto the canvas. I paint from the vantage point of being close up, fully immersed in each subject.”

Blaney is also an active member with the Federation of Canadian Artists and a member of the South Delta Artists Guild. She paints full time from her studio gallery in Ladner.

At Art Vancouver visitors are invited to meet the artist and view her latest collection of original largescale west coast inspired paintings.

Founded in 2015, Art Vancouver is Western Canada's largest international fine arts fair and features local and international artists and galleries.
