Several talented young dancers from South Delta have been accepted onto the Canadian National Dance Team for upcoming world championships.

Hip hop dancers Megan Bell of Ladner and William Jope of Tsawwassen will compete at the World Hip Hop Championships later this month in Italy.

Tappers Andie Assaly (Tsawwassen), Amy Bell (Ladner), Claire Creighton (Ladner), Makerra Bach (Tsawwassen) and Adrianna Woskosky (Richmond) will be in Germany in December for the World Tap Dance Championships.

Each dancer is required to raise almost $4,000 to cover costs of the trip.

Chances are you will likely see these dancers around town fundraising and looking for sponsorships and donations to help make their dream a reality.

The hip hop team is holding a fundraising gala performance at the Bell Centre in Surrey this Sunday.
