Delta Mayor Lois Jackson visited Delta Hospital last Wednesday to see some of the Delta Hospital Auxiliary volunteers in action. Jackson dropped in on the Pillow Pals volunteers during one of the group’s monthly work sessions. The Pillow Pals construct special comfort pillows designed to help women recovering from breast cancer surgery. The volunteers also make car seatbelt protectors for other surgical patients. Auxiliary member Elaine Canning said Jackson visited to see how the pillows are made and to thank the volunteers for their efforts. Last year, volunteers made more than 120 sets of comfort pillows.
