Minister's minute

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on.” Php 3:13-14 NIV

“No one who looks back is fit for service.” Lk 9:62 NIV

Four things to move forward in life:

1. Look Forward. By looking in the rear-view mirror instead of forward, you’ll miss the turn you are supposed to take and you might even crash into a wall. Focus on being alive, and learn from your experience. God kept you around for a reason; find it and pour your life into it.

2. You Can’t Cheat the System. In any bookstore you’ll find shelves lined with titles promising 10 easy steps to achievement or 12 simple strategies for health, wealth and fulfillment in life. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way.

Life comes with challenges, and deep inside we know all those simplistic approaches don’t work. But the fact that your life has challenges doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. A preacher said, “If you don’t come face to face with the Devil sometimes, you must be going in the same direction he is.”

3. Staying on Your Path. It means you might lose something or someone along the way. Some of your closest friends are people who don't want change, and they don’t like those who do. Your decision to change doesn’t mean they will do the same. But we must be committed to growing, expanding our knowledge and experience, and moving forward in life.

4. God Believes in You – So Should You. God knows your potential, and if you trust Him and do your part, He will help you to fulfill it.
