Delta Nature presents A Plastic Ocean with Emma Langson Tuesday, Jan. 3.

Plastic Oceans’ mission is to change the world’s attitude to plastic in one generation.

The organization is challenging society’s perception that this indestructible substance can be treated as ‘disposable,’ says Langson, executive director Plastic Oceans Foundation Canada.

Their group’s documentary feature film “A Plastic Ocean” (nominated for Best Feature Documentary at Raindance film festival in London, UK.) highlights both the problem and potential solutions. It’s aim is to engage people of all ages, in all social situations, to understand the danger of continuing to perceive plastic as disposable.

Langson will be bringing a private 10 minute trailer of clips from the film plus the two-minute official trailer of ‘A Plastic Ocean’ and will follow that with a PowerPoint presentation on the issues surrounding plastic pollution and its impact on marine life and human health.

The presentation takes place at Benediction Lutheran Church, 56th Street and 6th Avenue, Tsawwassen, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The event is free and all ages are welcome.  For more information contact Tom Bearss at [email protected].
