Prizes up for grabs in annual Earth Day photo contest

The City of Delta is inviting residents to celebrate Delta’s diverse environment by entering its 11 th annual Earth Day photo contest. Entries will be accepted in three categories: youth (5 to 11), teen (12 to 17) and adult (18-plus).

The City of Delta is inviting residents to celebrate Delta’s diverse environment by entering its 11th annual Earth Day photo contest.

Entries will be accepted in three categories: youth (5 to 11), teen (12 to 17) and adult (18-plus). Photos will be displayed at city hall in Ladner throughout April and awards will be presented to the winners at the April 29 Delta council meeting.

Grand prize in a waterproof digital camera. Other prizes will be gift cards, photo mugs and recreation facility passes.

To enter, email your unaltered jpg photo file to: [email protected]. Include the title of the photo, photographer’s name, category entered and contact information. Entry deadline is March 28. Only one photograph per person can be submitted.

Three winners from each category will be selected from among all eligible entries received and one grand prize winner. Judging will be conducted by Mayor George Harvie and/or council and/or staff.

A fan favourite photograph will also be chosen from Facebook and Instagram based on the number of “likes” received. Residents can also vote at city hall where the photos will be displayed.
