Churches in Tsawwassen and Ladner are preparing for the World Day of Prayer service to be held on Friday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m.

Local Lutheran, Anglican, United, Catholic and Baptist churches are working together in this effort and will be part of the world-wide gatherings of Christian churches for a time of prayer and reflection.

The country of focus this year is Slovenia, formerly part of the Yugoslav republics, but since 1991 an independent country. It is a meaningful experience to be a part of this ecumenical gathering, to learn about, and pray for, people of this young country.

This year the service is being hosted by South Delta Baptist Church and a warm invitation is being extended to all in the community to attend the hour-long program and stay for refreshments and the opportunity to chat with friends and neighbours afterward.
