Tsawwassen author Peter Vassilopoulos has released an updated edition of his Gulf Islands Cruising Guide.
Vassilopoulos spent over a year working on updating the boating guidebook, which was originally published in 2006.
"It's the Gulf Islands which is closest to home and the most popular cruising area on the coast," he says.
The new edition features better graphics, larger images and lots of new photographs, including aerials.
"It's quite changed from the previous one," says the author, a longtime boater who has written a series of guidebooks.
He did two or three trips through the Gulf Islands over the last year to ensure everything was correct in the book.
Vassilopoulos says the book should be available at Albany Books in Tsawwassen, Black Bond Books in Ladner as well as in marine stores in Steveston and other areas.
Some of his other titles include Broughton Islands Cruising Guide, Cruising to Desolation Sound and the popular Docks and Destinations marina guidebook.
