The inaugural Festival of Lights hosted by Tsawwassen Springs in support of the Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation was a huge success.

Held from late November until early January, the festival not only provided a beautiful display of decorated trees for the community to enjoy over the holiday season, but also raised funds for the hospital thanks to the sponsorship of various organizations.

“We are so thrilled with the outcome of our inaugural Festival of Lights,” said Jill Presley from Tsawwassen Springs. “The community came together and we raised $26,760. Is was so nice to hear all the wonderful feedback about the event that sure had Christmas spirit we were hoping for. We wanted to say a huge thank you to all our generous sponsors who supported us, we cannot wait to see what the 2020 Festival of Lights brings.”

Executive director Lisa Hoglund said the foundation is truly honoured to be the recipient of the funds raised at the inaugural event.

“The Festival of Lights was a resounding success with lots of positive feedback from the community with many commenting how lovely it was to have a holiday event right here in South Delta,” said Hoglund.

She said money raised will help fund a much-needed gastroscope for the OR.

“Community events, such as the Festival of Lights, help us raise awareness of the critical needs at Delta Hospital,” Hoglund said. “Thank you so much to the amazing team at Tsawwassen Springs.”
