A group of UBC students is helping out the Delta Community Animal Shelter with a donation drive.
Second-year PhD student Yuejian Liu noted members of two graduate student societies from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences are taking part.
She said her co-supervisors Abby Collier and Mike Coughtrie live in Delta and inspired her to organize the donation drive as well as being a big help in the effort.
The drive is collecting food, toys and other items. A donation bin has been set up at UBC on the third floor of the pharmaceutical sciences building.
This marks the second time the group has done a donation drive to benefit animals in need at the local shelter. Their first took place last summer.
“It’s wonderful to see people going out of their way to try and make a difference here at the shelter,” said animal shelter supervisor Jenna Grazier.
The donation drive goes until May 11.
