We get God

Sometimes the Christian life is difficult, but there is a difference between it being difficult and being lousy. Often we are seen as joyless prunes who have settled for a flavourless life. Sadly, many think that being Christian means settling for less.

Recently while shopping I was reminded of this. I noticed a bin filled with discounted meat nearing its expiration date, damaged boxes and yesterday's bread. Goods discounted because they were almost worthless. We should not think about the Christian life as that which was pulled out of the discount bin. It's not less, it's more. We are not missing out on life. Here's why: Pneuma Church We get God. Only in God can we have all our desires fully sanctified and satisfied. This is not less than ideal; it is the ideal. To state it plainly, if goodness is what we desire, we must go to the source of all goodness: God. God is good. His goodness is not based on His mood or our behavior. This statement is based on God's character. God - IS - Good. Always. Explain good - God.

Psalm 119:36: You are good and do good; Teach me Your statutes.

He is saying teach me about your unchanging goodness. Like a statute that forever keeps the same shape. Your goodness towards us never changes. So as believers we get to have a relationship with God who is good. A good life cannot be found in anything else but Him. It is hardly that which makes up the discount bin.
