Did you ever wonder what it would be like to live on a houseboat right on the Fraser River? The next Faces of the Fraser speaker series session will explore the topic.

“We are pleased to welcome Kelly McCloskey and Sandy McKellar of the Floating Home Association of BC to the next edition of Faces of the Fraser to talk about life on the Fraser River,” said Fraser River Discovery Centre director of external relations and development Stephen Bruyneel.

Along the Fraser River there are about 300 floating homes. Draped in and aura of magic, they are part of the fabric of British Columbia’s history. The lifestyle is a unique alternative to crowded city spaces - connecting residents with the natural environment around them.

This event is on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Fraser River Discovery Centre,788 Quayside Dr., New Westminster. It is free with admission to the FRDC, but there are only a limited number of seats, so pre-registration is recommended. To register go to https://www.fraserriverdiscovery.org/FOTF/Upcoming or call 604-521-8401.
