Burnsview Secondary’s musical theatre students have one month to warm up their voices and shake out their virtual stage nerves before their online performance of Music Theatre International’s (MTI) All Together Now!
On Nov. 12, the North Delta high school is scheduled to participate in the production specifically created to celebrate and fundraise for local theatre groups around the globe, all on the same weekend.
“MTI’s All Together Now! Is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians ... Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the transformative power of musical theater,” said Drew Cohen, MTI’s president and CEO, in a press release.
Songs from iconic musicals like Mamma Mia!, Hairspray and High School Musical, among many others, are featured in the production, so there will be something for everyone, reads the release.
Burnsview’s current musical theatre students will be joined by alumni from previous shows for a collaborative showcase celebrating “memories, music and magic!”
“We are incredibly excited to celebrate the return of live theatre ... The past year has been a challenging time for everyone, particularly arts organizations. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back with this truly revue,” said Burnsview teacher Leslie Stark.
With tickets by donation, you can tune in live on Friday, Nov. 12 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and have access to a recording up until Nov. 15 at 12 p.m.
