It's been a busy year so far for members of South Delta's air cadet squadron.

The 12-to 18-year-olds have taken part in field training exercises (learning survival skills such as building fires and constructing and sleeping in snow caves), biathlon and fundraising for the 828 Hurricane Squadron.

Aside from the regular Tuesday training nights, the cadets continue to be involved in marksmanship, first aid, drill team practice and Duke of Edinburgh activities.

This spring, they will have opportunities to go up in glider and power aircraft as well as participate in two more field training exercises - orienteering and geocaching.

All of the activities provide learning and leadership opportunities for local youth. More information on this program can be found through cadets.ca or contacting [email protected].
