Metro Vancouver is hosting Bats of Burvilla at Deas Island Regional Park next week. Follow the flight of this fascinating mammal at sunset. Listen for its hunting sonar using a bat detector as it dashes and darts in search of mosquitoes and moths.

Follow the flight of this fascinating mammal at sunset. Listen for its hunting sonar using a bat detector as it dashes and darts in search of mosquitoes and moths. Learn about the mysteries of the bat's nocturnal life as you experience its nighttime world.

The program, for ages six and up, is set for Friday, Aug. 5 from 7: 30 to 9: 30 p.m.

Participants must be prepared to walk two kilometres outdoors in the evening and should wear layers for changing temperatures.

Advance registration is required by calling 604432-6359. Cost is $7.50 for adults, $4 for children/ youths/seniors or $20 for families.
