The Christmas season is upon us here in South Delta.
Over the next few weeks there are lots of opportunities to enjoy the holiday season with friends, family and the community.
Here are just a few of the upcoming events:
Sunday, Nov. 26: Rotary Club of Tsawwassen celebrates the Spirit of Christmas with it’s a Gift of Light from 2 to 5:30 p.m. in Diefenbaker Park. Come and make special Christmas memories with music, lights, fun for the kids and even a visit from Santa.
Sunday, Nov. 26: Celebrate the season with the Ladner Glee Club and featured soloists Emily Neufeld and Christine Magee at the Ladner United Church at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.
Friday, Dec. 1: Tsawwassen Springs hosts the opening tree lighting ceremony for the fifth annual Festival of Lights at 6 p.m. The Festival is sponsored and decorated by families, community groups and businesses. The sponsorship of the Christmas trees will raise funds for Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation.
Friday, Dec. 1: Delta Choral Society presents Christmas Joy featuring the Delta Community Choir, Delta Chamber Choir and Delta Children’s Choir at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Church in Ladner. Tickets available online at: www.deltachoral.ca.
Saturday, Dec. 2: Ladner Business Association Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Ladner Community Centre.
Saturday, Dec. 2: OWL I want for Christmas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at OWL (Unit 3, 3800-72ns St.). Get your photo takens with Santa and his owl helper. Entranceis by donation with $10 fee per digital photo. Hot food and drinks provided by Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club.
Saturday, Dec. 2: Delta Choral Society presents Christmas Joy featuring the Delta Community Choir, Delta Chamber Choir and Delta Children’s Choir at 2 and 7 p.m. at Cedar Park Church.
Sunday, Dec. 3: Delta Music Makers Community Band Christmas concert (with wine and cheese), 2 p.m. at McKee Senior Recreation Centre.
Sunday, Dec. 3: Sunday @3 Concert Series featuring a Celtic Christmas with Cookeilidh at Ladner United Church. Tickets are $10 cash at the door.
Tuesday, Dec. 5: Delta Music Makers Community Band Christmas concert, 7 p.m. at Ladner Community Centre.
Sunday, Dec. 10: Sunday @3 Concert Series features the Trinity Community Choir as they present That’s Christmas To Me. Tickets are $10 at the door at Ladner United Church.
Thursday, Dec. 14: Thorn and Sparrow presents Carols and Cocoa – a benefit concert for Deltassist at 7:30 p.m. at Fishermen’s Hall in Ladner. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/733160040417?aff=oddtdtcreator.
