IODE’s Tribute to Elvis event will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, at St. David’s Anglican Church.

IODE Boundary Bay and Steve Elliot invite you to join them to celebrate the glitz, glamour, and electric energy of Elvis Presley at their Tribute to Elvis event.

Elliot, a B.C.-based Elvis tribute artist, has won awards for his performances.

He replicates Elvis’ groundbreaking charisma and performance quality, transporting audiences back to the 1950s.

Not only is this event sure to spark joy in event attendees, but it also has philanthropy at its core.

“IODE is a registered Canadian women’s charitable organization whose mission is to

improve the quality of life for children, youth, and those in need,” said chapter president Frances Dickson.

This organization began in 1900 and the Boundary Bay Chapter was established in April 2006. Nationally, IODE works to benefit the lives of Canadians through education, community service, and citizenship programs. Collectively, their chapters have established the Read for Life Program (a program that aims to increase children’s self-esteem through literacy), Snack Pack and Food for Thought hampers, various educational scholarships, and many more beneficial initiatives.

More specifically, IODE’s Boundary Bay Chapter works to better the lives of South Delta residents.

The concert is a major fundraiser for the Chapter with funds raised going towards local programs primarily in South Delta including B.C. and Alberta Guide Dogs and a local Women’s Transition House.

Additionally, Dickson notes that IODE Boundary Bay supports local students by giving each kindergarten child in North Delta school book bags that they have made, along with three books to support a summer reading program in the school.

In South Delta, every elementary school is annually given the IODE Violet Downey Award-winning book of the year, and donations are made to both Delta and South Delta secondary schools to help fund various projects.

Tickets to the concert are $30. For more information or to purchase tickets, please contact 778-772-1848.
