Bird photography enthusiasts have a pair of upcoming Birds on the Bay events to check out in Tsawwassen.

Photographers Peter Holmes, John Lowman and Jim Martin will be showing their work at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre on Friday.

The event has been held at Cammidge House the last few years but is moving to the arts centre to accommodate more people, says organizer Ursula Easterbrook.

Easterbrook described Lowman as "just an excellent photographer" while Holmes is a perfectionist when it comes to bird photography. She said Ladner's Martin is a "birder first" who's also a really good photographer.

"Between the three, it makes a good combination," she said.

They're expected to show a mix of familiar and exotic bird photos.

It costs $5 to attend the presentation Friday at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre from 7: 30 to 9: 45 p.m.

A bird photography workshop, led by Easterbrook, a local photographer, is set for Sunday, March 18 at Cammidge House.

She'll go over basic to advanced photography skills, techniques, digital aspects, equipment selection, places to go as well as to-dos and what not to do.

There will be a practice session and trained raptors might be there.

Attendees are advised to bring their camera and equipment.

The workshop, for those 12 and up, costs $20. It goes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Cammidge House Committee and Boundary Bay Regional Park volunteers are hosting the programs.
