A local senior finally got her birthday wish.

On her 90th birthday, Ladner resident Stella Clause was asked if she could have one wish what would it be. She replied that she had played catcher for the girls' Royal Canadian Air Force baseball team in the early 1940s, and now all she wanted was to know if she could still hit a ball.

This year, at the age of nearly 92, Stella got her wish. Some friends approached a local boys baseball coach and arranged a little batting practice for Stella last month at Maple Crescent Park.

It turns out she's still got it as she was able to hit the ball past the pitcher to second base.
