Low-income residents of South Delta now have a choice of locations to get assistance preparing their tax returns. The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency and community organizations.

Low-income residents of South Delta now have a choice of locations to get assistance preparing their tax returns.

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency and community organizations. The organizations host tax preparation clinics and arrange for volunteers to prepare tax returns.

This year in South Delta there will be four organizations hosting clinics: Tsawwassen Alliance Church, Kin Village Community Centre, McKee Seniors' Recreation Centre and Deltassist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

$30,000 or less income for a single individual

$40,000 or less for a couple

$35,000 or less for an adult with a child

A simple tax return (no income from rental property, self-employment, capital gains)

Interest income should not exceed $1,000 Information on times and locations of the clinics will be made available in the Optimist when finalized. Those interested can also call the following numbers for more information:
