Jubilation at Gallery 1710

New exhibition runs until Dec. 21

South Delta Artists Guild member Corinne Bucher enjoys exploring colour in the guild’s studio/workshop at Gallery 1710.

The South Delta Artists Guild’s current show at Gallery 1710 is called Jubilation for several reasons.

Jubilation is a special exuberant expression of joy, and guild artists invite art lovers to jubilate with them in this exhibition and sale of some of their finest work, including pieces by new members.

In our northern hemisphere, this time of year has particular significance. Cold winter darkness is here, drawing us together in humanity and to mark many religious observations. People celebrate with colour and music, happiness, joy and a caring for others that help push aside, for a time at least, the difficulties many face.

It is time for jubilation, and the guild invites people to bring a friend and come and enjoy.

Jubilation runs through Dec. 21 at Gallery 1710, 1710-56th St., Tsawwassen. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It is wheelchair accessible and provides adjacent parking.

In January, the guild will present its annual show of work by local students. Southpointe Academy creative writing and art students will present their own poems and interpretive paintings at Gallery 1710.

Guild artists are also working on interpreting the same poems, and the two sets of paintings with their poetic inspirations will form the Anticipation exhibit.
