The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 502, which is responsible for Deltaport and Fraser Surrey Docks, ended up with a fundraising total for B.C. Children's Hospital that was even beyond members' imagination.
The initial goal was to raise at least $10,000, but when union representatives presented the cheque during the annual telethon last month, it amounted to a whopping $20,502.
"Our membership really took it to heart and fully engaged itself for this great cause," said union president Chad O'Neal.
