The Navy League Cadets will hold an information night for a possible new corps in the South Delta area next Wednesday.

Navy League Cadets is a program for boys and girls from nine to 13. The program helps cadets develop citizenship and leadership skills while offering experiences and adventures in sailing, canoeing, camping and survival skills, shooting, field trips and sleepovers.

Cadets may also choose to participate in the music or guard programs, as well as the competitive first aid and drill teams. Navy League Cadets is the feeder program for the air, army and sea cadet programs.

At this time there is no Navy League Corps in the South Delta area but interest seems to be growing so there is movement afoot to try to begin a corps in the area.

There will be an information meeting at the Delta Manor Education Centre, Room 155, 4750-57th St., Ladner, on Wednesday, May 23 at 7 p.m.

Parents can ask questions and get more information on the program and costs. There will also be a tentative sign up list that will be used to determine the interest in a new corps. For more information, e-mail [email protected].
