Travel photographers and writers Karen Pacheco and Karoline Cullen havejoined forces to present BC and Beyond, a travel photography exhibit at the Tsawwassen Library. It opened June 30 and will be on view until Aug. 31.
Pacheco¹s interest in the visual arts began with media studies at SFU. Her passion for travel photography was sealed when given a Pentax SP 1000 before a year¹s trip to Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the mid-1970s.

Her career as an educator ended with an assignment in Shenzhen, China, allowing for Asian travel opportunities. Since then, she has devoted her time to photography and freelance writing. Her recent travels include the
Maritimes, Hawaii and U.S. national parks. Pacheco is a member of the Delta Photo Club, B.C. Association of Travel Writers and Canadian Association for Photographic Art. Several of her images have won awards. Her work can be viewed at: http://northohana.zenfolio.com.

Photography has been a life long passion for Cullen. Even when she was an instructor in the kinesiology department of Langara, the managing director for Canadian Holographic Developments, or founder and coach of Delta Gymnastics, photography was always an interest.

Now retired from all that, she concentrates on photography. Living part-time on Galiano Island, she loves photographing the abundant nature there. She continues to support Delta Gymnastics by donating photos of gymnasts and events. Her travels have spanned the globe and she is a published magazine and newspaper travel writer. She is president of the Delta Photo Club and a member of the B.C. Association of Travel Writers. See more of her work at www.cullenphotos.ca and www.deltagymnastics.smugmug.com/KCullenPhotos.
