Rotarians light up Diefenbaker

Warm velvet sounds embraced everyone attending the annual Christmas tree lighting at Diefenbaker Park last Saturday.

Warm velvet sounds embraced everyone attending the annual Christmas tree lighting at Diefenbaker Park last Saturday.

The beautiful voice of Trista Lang of Tsawwassen gave warmth against the late afternoon chill and Santa used his love of Christmas to overcome the cold and turn on the lights.

Each year Rotarians string thousands of lights on the trees at Diefenbaker and then invite the community to share the joy of Christmas.

In addition to the beautiful song and warm lighting, hot chocolate was offered to fight the chill.

Rotarians and community members were joined MLA Vicki Huntington, Coun. Bruce McDonald, school board chair Laura Dixon, police Chief Jim Cessford and fire Chief Dan Copeland as well as a team of Delta firefighters that delivered Santa in a big red truck.
