Sidekick auditions

The Sidekick Players Club is auditioning its last production of the season this weekend.

Here on the Flight Path, written by Norm Foster and directed for Sidekick by Peg Keenleyside, is an insightful comedy that rips the lid off male-female relationships.

For John Cummings, living on the edge of Toronto’s Pearson Airport, the coming and going of jet planes is simply a metaphor for the way life flies by. Cummings is a lonesome, likable man who is strung out by a failed marriage and uncertain of his macho attraction. That his aborted attempts at romance with a string of comely female neighbours turns out to alter his oh-so masculine perceptions of love, provides the serious undertow in Foster’s comedy.

Here on the Flight Path will be performed at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre from June 11 to 27.

Auditions will be held at Sidekick’s rehearsal hall in the arts centre on Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. All auditions will be a cold read from the script and on a first come, first served basis. There are no appointments.

The cast requires one male (late 40s, 50s) and three females (mid-20s to 50s).
