South Delta author Debra Purdy Kong will be part of a crime writers event in Vancouver this Sunday, Oct. 15.

South Delta author Debra Purdy Kong is one of several authors who will present at the Crime Writers of Canada B.C./YT for Writers Night on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Library Square Public House.

The event is free and runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Public House located next to the Vancouver Public Library (300 West Georgia Street).

Kong will read from The Casey Holland Mysteries.

Kong has published short stories in different genres as well as personal essays and articles for publications such as Chicken Soup for the Bride’s Soul, B.C. Parent Magazine, and The Vancouver Sun. Her volunteer experiences, criminology studies, and various jobs inspired her to write mysteries set in the Lower Mainland. Her former work as a campus security patrol and communications officer provided the background for her Casey Holland mystery series.

Also on hand will be fellow authors Jonathan Whitelaw, Bill Arnott, S.M. Freedman, Winona Kent, Ken MacQueen, Merrilee Robson, Erik D’Souza and JT Siemens.

Broadcaster Jim Goddard will MC the event.

The authors will be chatting about their writing journeys and reading from their latest works. Signed books will be available to purchase and there will be giveaways.
