Join the Boundary Bay Park Association in an ongoing effort to help restore our natural areas while learning about coastal plants.

Coastal Restoration: Wildflower Seeding Event is Friday, July 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Centennial Beach.

Volunteers will help plant native wildflower seeds specific to the dune grass ecosystem found in this park, while removing any invasive species that are present.
The event is free, appropriate for all ages and tools, gloves, snacks, and directions are provided. Meet behind the Centennial beachside cafe building near the parking lot.

Delta Community Day

On Saturday, July 20, the Delta Riding Club hosts its inaugural Delta Community Day at the Summer Classic horse show with a beer garden sponsored by Four Winds Brewing, local vendors, equine vaulting demo, and full concession.

Delta Riding Club (4897 28th Ave.) is a non-profit society in its 76th year of operation, hosting grass-roots horseback riding competitions for various equine disciplines: English, Western, Hunters, Dressage, and Driving.

Delta Riding Club is operated on a membership-only basis, however, they are open to the public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Jog for the Bog

Jog for the Bog this Sunday and help celebrate International Bog Day.

The Burns Bog Conservation Society's Jog for the Bog fundraiser is an annual chip-timed 5K or 10K run or walk through the Delta Nature Reserve. This event raises awareness about local peatland Burns Bog, and celebrates International Bog Day.

Bring your whole family to enjoy the live entertainment, a delicious pancake breakfast, and a variety of exhibitors.

The event runs from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Delta Nature Reserve (10389 Nordel Court).

Fees are $45 for the 5K and $50 for the 10K

All proceeds go towards saving the Bog in your Backyard.
