A quartet of local authors is helping a pair of local bookstores celebrate Canadian Authors for Indies Day tomorrow.
Darren Groth, Ashley Spires, Cea Sunrise Person and Tanya Lloyd Kyi will volunteer as guest booksellers at Black Bond Books Ladner and Albany Books in Tsawwassen.
Authors for Indies Day is a nationwide event organized by authors to show appreciation for indie bookstores. Authors for Indies endeavours to increase customer traffic for the store, showcase local writers and strengthen relationships between authors and booksellers.
Authors will volunteer as guest booksellers, recommend books and highlight the importance of supporting independent bookshops ("indies").
More than 500 authors and 100 bookstores across the country have signed up to participate.
