There is a new face running the show at Tsawwassen Denture Clinic.

Stacy Whitman took over the operation from longtime owner Erna Swan earlier this summer.

Whitman, who graduated from the denturist program at Vancouver Community College in 2009 and got her licence in 2010, is not new to many Tsawwassen Denture Clinic customers. She started working with Swan back in 2008 when she was still a student.

As Whitman learned the ropes and got some practical experience in the field, Swan started preparing for retirement. And, at the end of July, Whitman bought the clinic and took over.

"It's been a great transition," she said.

Tsawwassen Denture Clinic offers a full range of services - from repairs to precision dentures and implants.

Whitman, who lives in Richmond, got into the business right out of high school, working with her boyfriend's grandfather, a denturist with an office in Vancouver.

Whitman is a member of the Denturist Association of B.C. and is registered with the College of Denturists of B.C. She won the Denturists Association of B.C.'s George Connolly scholarship two years in a row, as well as other awards.

Whitman said the experience of taking over the business has been both exciting and stressful.

Tsawwassen Denture Clinic is located at 122256th St. Whitman can be contacted at 604-943-7818.
