A long-time local financial planner recently struck out on his own, opening an office in Tsawwassen.
After more than 17 years in major chartered banks, Mark Schoeffel recently opened an independent office of DundeeWealth.
The office, which opened March 4, allows him to be completely unbiased when working with his clients, Schoeffel said, adding he decided to go with DundeeWealth because the company has good resources for advisors and he was impressed with its research channels.
Schoeffel said his new storefront office under the big glass roof in the courtyard of the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre is aimed at encouraging clients to walk in anytime.
Schoeffel started working in Tsawwassen in 1996, just a few years after launching his career. He moved to the community a few years later and now calls Tsawwassen home with wife Sharon and the couple's five-year-old son William.
Schoeffel said his new office is a full service brokerage where he can help clients define, plan for and realize their financial goals.
As an investment advisor and certified financial planner, Schoeffel helps clients articulate their goals, develop a plan to attain those goals as well as regularly review the plan to ensure success.
He said he still has many clients he has worked with since coming to Tsawwassen in 1996 and enjoys seeing clients evolve over the years.
"It's nice to be able to have that continuity."
Branch administrator Franak Mazdine, who has worked with Schoeffel since 1998, joins him at the new office.
