Port Metro Vancouver was recently ranked among Corporate Knights' 2015 Future 40 Responsible Corporate Leaders in Canada.

Corporate Knights is a magazine published quarterly as an insert in the Globe and Mail and Washington Post. Its focus is the intersection of business and society, and "clean capitalism."

This is the second year for its Future 40 ranking, which ranks companies with annual revenues of less than $2 billion on how well they track and disclose items like carbon emissions, water consumption and management diversity. The ranking looks at 12 key performance indicators covering management of resources, employees and finances.

"It is a great honour to receive recognition of our environmental excellence and transparency," said Robin Silvester, presidents and chief executive officer. "Port Metro Vancouver is responding to increasing demand for trade briefs by ensuring port operations and growth and sustainability managed."

Deltans shredded thousands of pounds of confidential documents and raised more than $1,200 for local food banks at the annual Shred It and Forget It event at Envision Financial last month.

More than 100 residents brought in nearly 9,000 pounds of documents for shredding at the event, which was presented in partnership with the Delta Police Department and Iron Mountain.

It marks the fourth year Envision Financial and Iron Mountain have partnered with local law enforcement to hold the event.

"This was a fantastic event that allowed us to connect with ad educate the community around the very timely issue of fraud prevention," said Sgt. Sarah Swallow.
