Reach Child and Youth Development Society's Building for Children Together Campaign has received a $50,000 boost from the Dayhu Group and affiliated companies.
Reach executive director Renie D'Aquila and fundraising manager Kristin Bibbs met with Dayhu Group COO Paul Tilbury and owner Shirley Barnett at Boundary Bay Industrial Park to receive the donation on behalf of Boundary Bay Holdings, Astra Concrete Pumping, BC Comfort Air Conditioning, CAN TEC Electrical Services Ltd., Landrock Excavating, Ottens Landscaping and Winvan Paving. Already a strong supporter of Reach, including as a sponsor of the annual Reach for the Stars fundraising gala, Dayhu facilitated gathering donations from other Boundary Bay Industrial Park businesses.
"The work Reach does in the Delta community is immeasurable," said Tilbury, "and we are delighted to be able to support them as they move towards their new facility and a greater impact on the lives of so many children."
D'Aquila said Dayhu's commitment to vulnerable children is both admirable and heart-warming.
A child development centre under construction adjacent to the Ladner Pioneer Library will allow Reach to double the number of children with special needs it supports. The Reach Foundation, with support from the Corporation of Delta, has raised $5.2 million of the $5.7 million needed to complete the project.
