Kenorah named finalist for 15 Ovation Awards

South Delta company leads list in Greater Vancouver

The Greater Vancouver Home Builders' Association announced the finalists for the annual Ovation Awards last month and a local contractor came away with the most nods.

South Delta-based Kenorah Construction & Design was named as a finalist in a whopping 15 categories.

"Last year, Vancouverarea homeowners spent nearly $4 billion on home renovations, and builders started construction on 17,867 new homes," said GVHBA president and CEO Peter Simpson.

"Residential construction is a major contributor to Metro Vancouver's economy and GVHBA is delighted to partner with FortisBC and the HPO (the provincial Homeowner Protection Office) to honour the industry's brightest stars."

Finalists were chosen in 41 categories. The entries were judged by awardwinning builders, renovators and designers from the Okanagan, Vancouver Island, Whistler and Seattle.

The judging process was rigorous and entries were only named as finalists if the judges agreed unanimously the submissions had exceptional merit.

Kenorah Construction & Design was named a finalist in: Best Kitchen Renovation - $100,000 and over; Best Kitchen and Greatroom Renovation; Best Bathroom Renovation - under $35,000; Best Bathroom Renovation - $35,000 and over; Best Renovated Room; Best Addition Renovation; Best Heritage Renovation; Best Exterior Renovation for two separate projects; Best Renovation - $300,000-$499,999; Best Renovation - $500,000-$799,999, for two separate projects; Best Outdoor Living Space - new or renovated; Best Marketing Innovation - Renovator; and, RenoMark Renovator of the Year - Large Volume.

Kenorah isn't the only local company up for an Ovation Award. Best Builders Ltd. is a finalist for: Best Renovation - $300,000-$499,999; Best Renovation - $500,000-$799,999; Best Custom Home - under $500,000; and, RenoMark Renovator of the Year - Large Volume.

And local interior designer Sarah Gallop Design Inc. was named as an associate on a project nominated for Best Custom Home - $1 million-$2 million.

The winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony in Vancouver on April 28.
