Kin's Farm Market has presented a cheque for $3,567 to the Canadian Cancer Society, donating funds raised from its second annual calendar campaign.

In recent years, Kin's Farm Market has become a committed supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Through community and store events, and seasonal campaigns, it has raised over $40,000 since 2009.

"Kin's annual calendar campaign is one of the ways we engage our staff and customers in supporting the Canadian Cancer Society," says Kenneth Lai, vice-president corporate development at Kin's Farm Market.

"Canadian Cancer Society believes that eating well is a key part of cancer prevention. A healthy diet including lots of vegetables, fruit and fibre, and less fat and sugar, will help you maintain a healthy body weight, therefore reducing the risk of developing cancer," Lai says. "The healthy lifestyle that Canadian Cancer Society advocates is something Kin's Farm Market strongly agrees with."

"Support from Kin's Farm Market and other organizations makes everything we do possible," says Jocelyn Kwok of Canadian Cancer Society. "The funds we receive go towards cancer research, provide assistance to cancer patients and cancer patient services, and share valuable information with our communities on cancer prevention and early detection.

"We are incredibly grateful for Kin's commitment and dedication to the Canadian Cancer Society."

Kin's Farm Market is a specialty produce company with over 30 locations in B.C. and Ontario, including one in Ladner's Trenant Park Square.
