Exemplary customer service is a focus for Lawlor Goldsmith Shoppe owner Janet Holmes.
"My customers say that you can get jewelry anywhere but you can't get service like ours anywhere," says Holmes, adding that's a reason why the business keeps winning Readers' Choice awards.
She opened Lawlor Goldsmith Shoppe in January of 2010 after her dad, Patrick Lawlor, retired and closed Lawlor Jewelry a month earlier.
Patrick still checks in from time to time, she notes.
"He's still very, very proud of the Lawlor name."
The family business moved from Trenant Park Square to Ladner Village last year. Holmes is happy with the relocation, noting the business gets to be open during Ladner Village Market dates and can be a part of the annual quilt walk and car show.
"Plus, expanding allowed us to bring a watchmaker on site."
The store is carrying quite a bit more jewelry since the move and has added a gentlemen's section. Holmes hopes to get into bridal jewelry by next summer.
