The Delta Hospital Foundation announced this week that MK Delta Lands Group has returned to fulfill its two-year commitment as presenting sponsor of the foundation's annual Moonlight Gala.
This year, the elegant event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 in the newly reconstructed Harris Barn at Kirkland House in Ladner. All proceeds will be dedicated to the foundation's Hospital's Greatest Needs Fund.
Since 2006, MK Delta Lands Group has dedicated $250,000 in funding to help Delta Hospital deliver the best in patient care.
"Delta Hospital is the heart and soul of this community and we are committed to doing all we can to support the efforts of Delta Hospital Foundation," said MK Delta president Joanne Barnett.
"MK Delta Lands continuously and generously support our hospital and the community is better for it," said Margot Millen, 2013 Moonlight Gala committee chair. "Last year, with their leadership as presenting sponsor, we were able to raise an amazing $300,000. Everyone involved in this event helps its success and I can't thank enough the countess sponsors, attendees, and volunteers who make our gala a sensation."
This year's theme is Moonlight Masquerade, boasting a promise of amazing lighting techniques, tantalizing entertainment and a feel-good time.
"This year we are going to wow the guests," said Jackey Zellweger, the foundation's corporate and event manager.
In partnership with Fraser Health, the foundation recently completed the High Level Master Plan for Delta Hospital. The plan identifies growth at the hospital in three phases, with phase one aimed at expanding the hospital's diagnostic capacity to meet the community's immediate and future needs.
The 2013 Moonlight Gala will raise funds to support the foundation in realizing this transformation.
Since 1998, the Moonlight Gala, the foundation's signature event, has raised $2.8 million for the hospital.
MK Delta Lands Group is a land development partnership comprised of two family-run businesses, the Matthews Southwest Group and the Kerbel Group. Both businesses have been in operation for over three decades.
