A new business in Delta will be offering nature programs for everyone from preschoolers to adults throughout the year. The first such programs will be the weekend of Aug. 18 and 19 at Ladner Harbour Park.
Experienced naturalist Krystal Brennan will be leading engaging programs that will allow Delta residents to discover the signs animals leave behind in our local trails. Children can explore our natural world through exciting activities and crafts - they can talk to the birds and even play a game with a slug.
Adults will be amazed at the secret world that nature can reveal through tracks, paths, bird songs and many more wild clues in right here in Delta.
Birdhouses and mason bee boxes will also be available for purchase at these walks to turn backyards into wildlife habitats.
Nurturing Nature hopes to increase local residents' knowledge about our natural world to encourage environmental appreciation and stewardship.
These hour-long programs are $7 per person and parents coming with children are free.
Fifteen per cent of all proceeds from these programs will be donated to Free the Children, a Canadian non-profit organization that aims to end child labour.
