Delta Hospital has received a generous gift from RBC that will help save patient lives.

The $20,000 donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation will support the purchase of a non-invasive ventilator, a critical piece of equipment that assists with establishing and maintaining the airway during management of trauma and intensive care.

The ventilator helps to stabilize and treat patients in a quick and minimally invasive manner, ensuring they are kept as comfortable as possible during what can be highly stressful events.

"This is an essential piece of equipment that is utilized by staff responding to patients who are suffering from impending respiratory failure as a result of cardiac or respiratory diseases," says Lisa Hoglund, individual giving manager for the Delta Hospital Foundation.

RBC has been a constant supporter of Delta Hospital, donating over $200,000 since 1999 and sharing the foundation's long-term vision of providing the best possible health care to the community.

Over the years RBC funding has supported the purchase of a number of critical items, including crash and isolation carts, and high-tech tools for the respiratory therapy team.

"We take our responsibilities in the community seriously," says Jennifer Cabeldu, manager of donations, brand and communications at RBC. "We see our contributions to Delta Hospital as an investment in the future health and wellbeing of the community."
