Fourteen years after taking her business on the road, local dog groomer Marlene Jeronimus has set down some roots.
Two months ago, Jeronimus opened Southpaws Pet Grooming Studios in Harbourside Plaza in Ladner.
She said having a permanent location has been a dream for the last two years, however, Jeronimus' mobile dog grooming business Movin' & Groomin' is still on the go for those who would like to have the service come to them.
Jeronimus has taken dog grooming to the next level with her new venture. Southpaws Pet Grooming Studios has the air of a high-end salon. The clean, almost clinical, environment features soft tile floors, stainless steel tubs and spacious rooms. She added a central vacuum system and an industrial air transfer system to help maintain a clean and healthy environment for her clients. The open concept, which allows the dogs to see out into the lounge, quiet equipment and sound proof rooms help create a more serene experience.
"It's very calming for the animal," Jeronimus said.
Jeronimus, who has been a dog groomer for 25 years, offers her canine customers a true salon experience with one-on-one attention - owners book their dog in for an appointment in advance and are able to pick them up, clean and groomed, within two hours.
Southpaws Grooming Studios also features a waiting lounge with HD TV, comfortable leather couches and free WiFi.
"It's a calming pleasant experience for both owner and pet," she said.
Southpaws Pet Grooming Studios is open six days a week - Monday through Saturday.
