Twenty enthusiastic volunteers from Telus spent one morning last month working with Earthwise staff on the farm providing much-needed assistance in the fields.

The volunteers transplanted lettuce and squash, planted beets, corn and Swiss chard, prepared garden beds, seeded trays of cauliflower and red cabbage, and moved a lot of compost.

The efforts of the Telus volunteers will be realized as the growing season progresses and the Earthwise Harvest Box program begins this month.

With the help of eager volunteers, Earthwise is able to maintain crop preparation and planting. Corporate teams and groups are invited to volunteer on the farm and in the garden year round.

This year Telus celebrated its eighth annual Telus Day of Giving, where more than 13,000 team members, retirees, friends and family members volunteered their time with local organizations and charities across the country.
