Upbeat hiring climate for last quarter

Delta/Richmond employers are expecting an upbeat hiring climate for the fourth quarter of 2011, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

Delta/Richmond employers are expecting an upbeat hiring climate for the fourth quarter of 2011, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

Data reveals that 23 per cent of employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter (October to December), while seven per cent anticipate cutbacks, said Monica Star of Manpower's Vancouver office.

Another 70 per cent of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels for the upcoming quarter.

"Richmond-Delta's fourth quarter net employment outlook of 16 per cent is a slight decrease from the outlook of 20 per cent reported for the previous quarter," she said.

Students of Shanti Yoga came out Sept. 24 to support the Tsawwassen studio's 1school1day fundraiser.

Shanti Yoga was one of many in the health and fitness community of Greater Vancouver to come together to help raise $100,000 to build a school in Ethiopia.

Shanti students and studio raised $300 through a 90-minute, by-donation yoga class.
