Washington coffee chain coming north

Woods Coffee announces it will open first Canadian outlet at Tsawwassen Springs

Woods Coffee is partnering with White Spot parent company Shato Holdings Ltd. to open its first Canadian coffee shop at Tsawwassen Springs in early 2016.

The company, which has 17 locations in Washington state, made the announcement earlier this week.

"We're excited to see the growth of a family-based, premium coffee service into B.C., and believe this will be a great addition to the Tsawwassen community," said Warren Erhart, president of White Spot. "As a Shato Holdings brand, the Woods Coffee company shares the same values as White Spot, offering high quality premium products and exceptional guest service."

Woods Coffee says it will maintain its signature Pacific Northwest feel as it expands north. Tsawwassen customers will enjoy a drive-through feature for coffee on the go, along with an indoor fireplace around which guests will enjoy Woodsroasted coffee and madefrom-scratch baked treats.

"We are honoured to be working with Shato Holdings, who have a proven track record in the hospitality sector," said Woods Coffee owner Wes Herman.

Woods Coffee was established in 2002 by the Herman family of Lynden, Washington. It offers its own line of fresh, in-house baked goods, roasts all of its own coffee and offers an exclusive compost-acup brand of compostable cups.

The Tsawwassen Springs development is comprised of 194 single-family homes and 296 condos as well as an 18-hole golf course. Amenities include the Springs Ballroom, Pat Quinn's Restaurant and Bar and more.
