$12,000 raised for typhoon relief at Ladner breakfast

A Filipino breakfast fundraiser held last Sunday at the Sacred Heart Parish in Ladner raised over $12,000 for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which killed thousands in the Philippines earlier this month.

A Filipino breakfast fundraiser held last Sunday at the Sacred Heart Parish in Ladner raised over $12,000 for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which killed thousands in the Philippines earlier this month. Organizers thanked the local community, guests from other areas of the Lower Mainland, Delta South MLA Vicki Huntington, Philippine Consul General Neal Ferrer, the Rotary Club of Ladner and the Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus for their support. Proceeds from the local event will go towards Gawad Kalinga, an organization working on relief efforts in the Philippines.
