Andy Basi has announced his candidacy for the Delta school board.
Basi, a former Delta Secondary parent advisory council chair, promised to listen to concerns and discuss issues with all concerned.
"If elected as your school board trustee, I will be firmly committed to expanding the board's role and initiative in consulting with the public," he sated on his Facebook campaign page.
"Consultation needs to occur on a regular basis and with more focus on learning about issues and discussing solutions. Nothing builds trust nor destroys misconceptions more than a faceto-face meeting and I plan to be out in the community as much as possible getting ideas and feedback."
According to his Facebook page, Basi has considerable experience on boards, including terms with the Canadian Cancer Society and Delta Hospital Foundation, among others.
